Protection of data, files or folders is very necessary and we often use some third party software so that we could protect our important files from unwanted access. Here, in this tutorial we will tell you a way out to protect your folder without downloading any third party software.

This is really a good method however, it would not conceal your data from those who know what you might have done. Be careful with the script if you are a beginner. Before even get started make a new folder so that even if you lost it, doesn't matter to you. Now open the newly made folder and add a new text document here. 

Now, open the newly made "New Text Document" and put the script inside it. Click here to see the script. When you click on the above link, a word file is downloaded which contains the following code.

Extract the above code by clicking here. Here, you could download a software which would be helpful in extracting texts from any image. Before, moving forward first change the password which is shown above i.e. Write_Password_Here otherwise this itself would be saved as your password. 

Now once you put the script inside the text document, save the file as locker.bat. Go and see inside the folder, a batch file must have been generated there. Double click on it and a Private folder will be generated like the below shown screenshot.

This is the place where you can store all your secret things. Once you put all your secret things inside this folder, run the locker i.e. batch file again. This time, command prompt will open and ask you a question which is shown below:

The moment you put Y here in the command prompt, your private folder disappears. If you want to see the folder again, run the locker again. This time it will ask for the password.

If you put the same password as stored in the locker, it will open the locked folder otherwise it will just terminate. 

What To do if You Forget The Password 

It might seem to be a very enticing method. However this is not that much good method. For ordinary people, it would be really like a good method anyway. However, for those who know the trick can always see the secret folder without even knowing the password. This is because anyone can see the password by right clicking on the locker and selecting edit. It will open batch file as Notepad where you can easily see the stored password.
