What Are Cookies, Cache and How to Delete Them

Often We come across this word cookies and are asked to delete to these cookies. This article is written just to give you a brief description about cookies and how to clear them time to time. Sometimes, despite of having a very good Internet connection we face low page loading speeds, data downloading speed becomes very less.

At this point, because of the lack of proper information what we do is to start blaming the the network. However, we could do one thing and that is get a little information about what is this and improve our internet knowledge. This is why, in this section I am going to tell you about two things cookies and cache and how to delete them in your browser.

A Cookie is a piece of information which stores all the websites where you visit even once. They are not a privacy concern but more of a tool to use you as an advertising profit surveyor. They actually remember those websites on your behalf where you have visited even once. You can notice this by writing URL or any word on your URL bar. When you write a word, it shows you options where you would like to visit.

It also remembers your id whenever you log into Gmail, Facebook, Youtube, E-bay etc. In other words, It keeps a track of how many times have you logged into any website and how often you visit there. The site where you visit more often will be shown at the top.
Again, cache is similar to the cookies. We always see the option of clear the cache while browsing something on Internet. When a browser loads a web page, it tries it’s best to cut down on page loading time. Each web page is made up of hundreds and thousands of files.Websites specially designed for faster loading also require loading of numerous files at one go.
A significant part of files are loaded fresh from the server. Yet at the same time, the browser also stores little bits of the site exclusively known as CACHE. This cache ensures that the next time you visit that website, some part of it is directly loaded from the cache of your browser collected last time. This, significantly lessens page loading time.
However, the problem with cache is that, websites continuously update their pages. Thus if you visit a website after a long time, you may see the CACHED pages which of course are older because their updated and present versions have not been loaded from the server but simply displayed by your browser when it stored those pages, the first time you visited the website. Hence, to avoid such problem you should regularly clear the cache.

Browsing History: This is also knows as browsing data. This is a very important part when you are involved in doing something you don't want others to know about it. It could be anything like: you are running a website and don't want your friend to know about it. It could also be watching or reading some personal interest and don't want to share with anything. For those, browsing history is a very important thing as it lets you delete all the data from any time you wish to.

Let's see how to do it. Just press Ctrl+Shift+Delete simultaneously. It will open a window just like the below shown screenshot:
In the above screenshot, you can see so many options at the left side. You can tick all those which you want to forget. You can delete Cookies too from here by ticking against its box. Remember that there is no coming back after doing this step. So, you must be sure which one to click or not. You can also tell your browser to forget about the saved password too.
