Here, in this tutorial I will tell you on how to close and restore Explorer.exe in windows 10.
The first thing which came into your mind after reading its heading must be Why should one close his explorer if he needs to restore it? Well, the answer is to save your PC from rebooting. Most of the time when you install a new software, it demands for a reboot otherwise it just starts to act buggy. However it is not always possible to restart our system everytime we install a new software.
There is a solution to this problem which I will discuss below. Using this method, you won't need to reboot your system. Let's look at "how to close and restore explorer.exe".
How To Close and Restart Explorer in Windows 10
Follow the below written steps with screenshots to know this little trick. Read this Tutorial carefully before actually applying this method onto your system. First read on how to bring back explorer.exe and then read on closing of explorer.
Closing Of Explorer
Step 1: Click on Start Menu. Now you could close explore by holding down Ctrl+Shift and then right click on the empty space on the start menu. It will open the context menu. Now, select Exit Explorer here like the screenshot shown below.
Step 2: It will exit the explorer and you won't even see your taskbar. Now you will see a complete blank screen. If you have opened any Browser, you can see this. Other than Browser, you won't see anything as the windows explorer is turned off.
Restoring Of Explorer
Step 1: Hold down Ctrl+Shift and Esc key. It will open a new window just like the below shown screenshot.
Step 2: Here go to the file and click on it. A drop down menu will appear. Choose Run new task. It will open Create new Task window. Type here Explorer just like the above shown screenshot and Boom, your explorer would come back immediately.
See, this is so simple. This is indeed an interesting and useful thing. As compared to rebooting using this method is more useful because of two reasons. They are:
- Your previous work wouldn't be affected i.e whatever software you had opened it will come back once the explorer is restored.
- There is no effect on Browser even the explorer is dead which is really a very nice thing.
Note: This method could also be used in Windows 7 or 8 with slight difference which could easily be figured out if you try on there.
Conclusion
As compared to rebooting, this method is indeed a lovely method without even worrying about closing of browser or software which is the prime reason for avoiding the Rebooting process. Try this yourself and share your views in the comment box.
