How To Increase The Performance Of Pen Drive

Pen Drive is a very important tool which we all have but very few of us know how to use this effectively and efficiently. I often come to hear that "My pendrive is slow" or "We can't transfer a file which size is bigger than 4 GB" despite of the fact they are having a 8 or 16 GB pendrive. These days most of the Quality Movies, Games like: Counter Strike, AOE, NFS, DOTA etc. are coming in more than 4 GB. It is really a problem for those who don't know how to transfer a big movie in a transfer.

Well, Today I will tell on how to increase the performance of your pendrive and how you can transfer a single file bigger than 4 GB at one go in pendrive.

How You Can Transfer A Single File Bigger Than 4 GB

Step 1: At first, select the pendrive which you want to use. Right click on it and select Format.

Step 2: When you select Format and click on it, a new window will pop. This is your pendrive window. Here, go to the File System and pull down the drop down menu. Here, you will see three options. NTFS, FAT32 and exFAT.
Step 3: By Default, pendrive is formatted using FAT32. This feature doesn't allow transferring of a single file more than 4 GB. This is why we would chose NTFS which allows transferring of data file more than 4 GB and that too with a reasonable speed.

How To Boost Up The Speed Of Pendrive

Step 1: Look at the first screenshot of this article. Now go down to the bottom. There you see properties. Clicking on it will open the properties window of your pendrive. Here, you select the Hardware Tab like the below shown screenshot.
Step 2: Again here select your pendrive, like I have selected San Disk Cruzer Blade which is mine pendrive. Now, go down and click on Properties. It will open a new properties window of your pendrive like the below shown screenshot.
Step 3: Here, you click on Change Settings as shown above. It will open the performance window of your pendrive. Now, here go to the second tab i.e. Policies Tab. It shows you two options. Select the better performance and tick against its round box.
Step 4: If you want to enable the WiFi caching too for your device, you can select it too. Then finally press OK. Now, see for yourself the performance of your pendrive both in speed and in data transferring more than 4 GB.

Conclusion
Performance of pendrive really matters. If you are deprived of the knowledge of what your pendrive can do, you always live in the shadow always irritating either on pendrive or on the manufacturer. Try the above tutorial and see the change for yourself. If you find anything worth mentioning do comment in the comment box.
