How To Create a 4 Digit Login Pin for Windows 8 or 10

Here in this tutorial, I will tell you on how to create a 4 digit login pin for windows 8 or Windows 10. Log in to windows 10 or 8 with your Microsoft Account password is really time taking as we all keep long password for our Hotmail or Outlook account. 

Making long and complicated password is good for security reasons however, typing long password each and every time you login or unlock your system is a complicated thing and it irritates too. Here, I will tell you the solution for windows 8 step by step. For windows 10, you have to follow the same steps without any change. You must not be knowing it but Windows 8 and 10 both provide two solutions to get rid of this long password thing.  

The First Solution is to disconnect yourself from Microsoft Account. You can visit here to open your Windows 10 without signing into Microsoft account.

The Second solution is to create 4 digit Pin about which I will tell you here. 




How To Create 4 digit Login Pin

Step 1: At first press Win+I, It will open a sidebar in right hand side. Just go to the Bottom of it, and you will find there Change PC settings just like the below screenshot.


Note: You could directly search for PC settings in the start screen too for windows 8 and start menu for windows 10. 

Step 2: Once you open the PC settings, scroll down and click on Users. It will expand the screen and Your Account will appear in the right panel. Select "Create a Pin" here. 

Note: For Windows 10 Users, Click on Users and accounts instead and then select sign-in options. In the right side panel, scroll down to the bottom. There you find PIN and Add option just under this. Press Add.


Step 3: A new window will pop-up asking your password first. If you have your Microsoft Account running on your windows, type your account password. Otherwise, type the local password. In simple term, type the current password of your PC. 

Step 4: Once you type your password here and press enter, a new window will open with name "Create a Pin". Just Enter New pin here and then confirm it. Press Finish and you are done here.This is all you have to do for activating your four digit pin Login. 


Note: Now either lock the screen or restart your PC. The screen of your PC will look like the below shown screenshot. You could either enter your PIN or password to open your account. 


Conclusion
This tutorial is mainly for those people who love to have their Microsoft account i.e. Hotmail or Outlook opened in Windows 8/10 but don't want to type long password to open their PC each time.
