Add Files or Folders To My Computer

My Computer is the first thing which anyone opens for most of the time when one opens his PC or laptop. Why do we open this more frequently? It is all because we know every files is located here. Isn't it would be great if we could add important files or folders right here at My Computer.

Well, Today I will tell you on how to add files or folders directly to your My Computer. Follow the below steps on how to do it.

Note: My Computer and Computer are the same. Depending upon the version of your windows, you can see any of them.

How To Add Files or Folders to My Computer

Step 1: At first, search for Run in start Menu for Old windows or Start Screen for windows 8 or 10. Alternatively you could also press Win+R. This is a keyboard shortcut for Run.



Step 2: Here, press appdata in between the "%" as shown in the above screenshot. Now, press OK. You will see a new window will open with name Roaming.

Step 3: Now, follow the exact sequence mentioned here Roaming --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Network Shortcuts. Basically you have to search for network shortcuts under Roaming which is found under windows and that too under Microsoft

Step 4: Once you found this folder, just paste the application shortcuts, files or folders which you want to see on My Computer. 

Step 5: Now, close your Network shortcuts window and open your My computer window. It will consist all the icons you have just added under Network location.


That's it. You can see yourself that the files which I have added are shown here in the Network Location. Do it yourself and let's us know if you face any problem.
